i was reading about the origin of life and it just occured to me... uray miller experiment proved that organic molecules were formed from inorganic molecules...so somewhat life from abiotic elements and on the other hand...people disproved the theory of spontaneous generation and proved that life can form only from pre existing life contradictory things proved?? or am i getting confused?:O
Same question is in my mind @shrutipande9 What I think is First life must be created from abiogenesis then from biogenesis. First life started with some elements then prokaryotic life then eukaryotic cells, jawless fish, reptiles (dinosaur) , first bird (archeoptyryx), mamals like (indricotherium), blah blah even scientists don't know that they are confusing people :P :D
Really a good point @shrutipande9 . I never think about it :D
But @shrutipande9 @sarah786 but their must be some sort of energy needed to convert non-living elements into living things and simple we call it soul. But now the question is which type of energy is that?
Also where it is available I mean energy means the soul :)
as in the origin was due to inorganic..and then reproduction by biogenesis... also i still have a ques what is exactly soul...some sort of energy or something else?
Still even scientists don't know but I think it is dark energy which is according to scientists are not visible but it is present
ohh..cool...i still need to find an answer for this ques..then we would go to what is soul..:D
Soul is the cover of the spirit. One of the 3 parts that constitute humans. The other two parts are: body and spirit. I hope that helped :-)
@Frostbite
Note a very very very very important thing: The Miller experiment never created life! But only some amino acids which we today consider a fundamental for all life the very diversity of life as well.
From what I understand, Miller concluded that it may CONTRIBUTE to the creation of life.
but amino acids r considered biotic factors right? and they r a very very vital part of life....do apparently biotic factor from abiotic once...
They are indeed very vital at least what we know of. And yes you can say that we create molecules from abiological molecules. But lets do a thinking experiment: Say we put a solution of all 20 naturally common amino acids into a flask and provide energy for the formation of peptide bonds. After 24 h do we consider what may be in the solution "life"?
ummm...maybe not..if its only amino acids
Exactly. I think that this how you should see Millers experiment. He showed that if you try to recreate what the early atmosphere consisted of, you are able to create amino acids, precursors (and precursors only) for life's perhaps most important organic molecule: proteins. To summarize into a awesome way: The Miller experiment suggest the origin of amino acids, but not life.
ahhhhhh.....i kind of agree on ur point...but then wat about origin of life,,,
What do you mean?
Life first came into being by abiogenesis infact.
True, that is what a lot of evidence point at, but it also make logical sense.
yeah but there is some sort of thing (soul) needed to produce life from dead things even proteins are dead until they have (soul) or whatever :)
That sounds like faith/religion to me - a thing we may never be able to prove.
Yeah there are some mysterious things that can not be clarified. Also every thing is controled by energy. Dark energy etc.
exactly...i still have a question mark on what is soul.....
Remember we in science ONLY deal with things we can falsify and observe, if we can't test it our hypothesis don't work.
God, faith and religion are 3 completely different things!
@Ektoras if I claim that "spirit" is antineutrions how would you prove me wrong?
yes yes...guys i m asking this ques with absolute science point of view....faith and religion and things r still yet to be proven
yeah I said soul but its some type of mysterious energy needed to create life. Even proteins, lipids etc are dead until they have it. I used the word soul but basically I want to say a myseterious thing.
Well... life / death is a bit funny category @shrutipande9 have you heard of the experiment where some chemists tried to create inorganic life?
inorganic life? i havent even heard of this term
It may put things into perspective: Scientists have created inorganic life in their lab - the perhaps very life without any carbon atom it in it.
It is made exclusively from metals and inorganic molecules.
so if they hv created life with inorganic molecules...then r definition of life changes
@frostbite Do they breath, think and create life? Like humans do?
Remember life is man made definition so it can always change ;) But some also say it is not life. Try look at it and say what you think.
inorganic life may be I believe that jupiter and gaseous planet may have gaseous life what did you guys think?
They got metabolism, they can reproduce and isolate them self from their experiments - some of the very keys for all life.
O_O
and grow, and they got a highly complexity of order.
the basic thing for life is reproduction .
@Frostbite You got that right! "Some of the very keys for all life" Some... But it's interesting to examine though...
holy **** :O:O:O:O O_O
Universe is created by big bang so what I think is may some more baig bang also happened there and created more universe .
@GTXMUQSIT u r right...if v hv life from inorganic stuff....then there is life on maybe almost all d planets...so this means that r definition of life just shortened our view...we couldnt actually look beyond a carbon atom....
the reason v cannot explain phenomenon is because we have restricted our vision by making these definitions...they like jam up ur thinking power
yeah that's what I think :)
I m still taking time to digest this....
Yeah may be gas, and liquid can reproduce? no one knows the necessary thing for life is to just reproduce. No metabolism, respiration etc
u know in indian religion...people say that there is life in everything...so we kind of worship even non living things(obv now d defn changes) and now i hv to start agreeing to this thing..:O
hmm in Pakistani religion we say about hell and heaven at the time of big bang may be more than 1 big bang happend resulting in creation of hell and heaven I mean other universes?? every thing is possible.
@shrutipande9 also some people don't believe on GOD. So in my opinion energy is present every where so the GOD is, energy is running the universe so GOD is the energy running universe. But the main thing which we have to focus is to just open up our minds just not to beleive on definations. What did you think we can make our theories lol?
ahhh...yes shruti-abdul-frost theory..and obviously there wold be et al :P
hahahah
Christ said it clearly that God is "Energy". He said: God is A - Ω, He is the beginning and the End, he is the Light. So, if everything is light we are energy!! This is what I understand of what God and life are :-)
Is dark matter light? :P (bad joke)
ahhahahh :P frostbite
@Frostbite Clever joke :-)
frostbite I think you play battlefield frostbite is game engine of battlefield
Emm no I don't. :)
LOL
guys...i dont like to bring u donw from this awesome discussion...but this is what he has proposed...not proved....hypothesis...not a law
@shrutipande9 for you
i dont know how to react.....O_o
ok guys...the discussion is still pending...because we havent really arrived on the ans of origin of life...will continue dis tomo...signing off for now..gn and btw this was awesome...we should have such discussions more frequently
Everything in this world stores energy...starting from a small element or chemical reaction to a huge atom bomb explosion . and living being mostly confines carbon composition. So there be a natural process by which life arose from non-living matter such as simple organic compounds or amino acids .living Enzymes were generated and latter with evolution life developed living beings.
