Rakesh credits 15% of his salary in fixed deposit account and spends 30% of the remainder amount on groceries. If the cash in hand is Rs. 2380, what is his salary?

let us say x = Rakesh salary... 0.15x = deposit on fixed account so 0.85x = remains after deposit 0.30(0.85x) = spends for groceries Rs. 2380 = cash in hand after grocery all of these added together and equate to Rakesh's salary... solving x algebraically will give Rakesh's salary... :)
