one way is to do it in steps... is there *any* number you can find that divides into both 8 and 32 ?

Yes. 8.  I can divide 8 by 8 and 32 by 8

if you did not notice 8, you could try 2 and get
4/16
then if you did not notice 4 works, but see that 2 does, you would get
2/8
and finally
¼
