What does sin^2 pi*x mean exactly? I think I'm getting confused with the sin^2 part. Is it (sin(pi*x))^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly. Its just trig functions place the exponent in the middle. That way there is no confusion. If you put it on the end, it might look like its the angle to the power and not the whole function.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the square of the value of sin(pi x)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sin^2(x) = sin(x) * sin(x)
