Factor the expression m^2-4m-21.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find two number when multiplied it gives you -21, and when add it gives you -4m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooo wow simple thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -7 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, when you put them in factorial form, it would be: (m-7)(m+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -7 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you want to solve for the m s set them equal to zero, so (m-7)=0 ---> add 7 to both sides m = 7 and (m+3)=0--->subtract 3 to both sides m= -3
