I agree with Nurali's answer. By being all of those things, da Vinci's life was the kind of ideal that the Renaissance embodied in exploring, experimenting, and learning everything within reach as part of a rebirth of discovering knowledge and new ideas.

He basically opened up alot more possibilities of architecture in Italy and art in general. Art was very important at the time during the Italian Renaissance because people sponsored art and much of the art was based off of christian beliefs.
