in the poem 'When I heard the Laden's astronomer' why is this poem romantic?
This poem "When I Heard the Learn'd Astronomer" was written by a great American author "Walt Whitman". The poem per say is romantic because it has a lot of depth and meaning. For instance the speaker of the poem is listening to a lecture, the lecturer is a famous astronomer who consistently talks about stars, even though in fact the astronomer isn't lecturing about stars, he's instead talking about equations and numbers and he's pointing at photos that have nothing to do with stars. So therefore, the speaker is disappointed by that and feels all kinds of nauseating emotions. The speaker decides to leave the room, as soon as he walks out he looks at the night sky filled with stars. He cannot comprehend any word to express how beautiful the sight of the night sky filled with many stars is.
