What is the density of an object with a mass of 17.05 grams that, when placed in a graduated cylinder, causes the water level to rise from 16.9 mL to 24.8 mL ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation for density is mass over volume, so the mass is given and you have to find the volume. To find it, just find the difference in the rise of the water level. So, 24.8-16.9=7.9 and 17.05/7.9=2.16. So, the density of the object is 2.16 kg.
