A waiter earned $28 in tips in an hour. He was paid in $1 bills and $5 bills. Use a model to determine how many $5 bills he received if he received a total of 16 bills. 1 2 3 4
5s=3 and 1s=13/ 3+13=16, 5|dw:1387180207585:dw|
I don't get it
what i draw was. how i found my answer. First the question stated you have 1 dollar bills and 5 dollar bills. Now that means its X and Y two different variables or something of an unknown because u dont know the amount of this.. we can find that amount Y and X by using a model or equation to find it. okay now if u want u can approximate or guess a value for Y lets say we have 3, 5 dollar bills so then u have 15 dollars.. how much would your X value be if the total was 16 bills well u already have 3 bills so its 13, 1 dollar bills. That add to your total value of 28 dollars...
idk how ur teacher would teach it.. i guess i.... am teaching you a my method.. the answer is still right tho cuz it checks out so... yeah take it for face value.
