Barbara works at a law office as an entry-level lawyer. She spends of her time at the law office doing paperwork. A. How many hours does she have to work to spend 10 hours doing paperwork? B. Barbara spends of her time on the phone. How many hours does she have to work in a week so that she spends 5 hours on the phone? C. At her law firm, there is a rule that each employee must spend of his or her time at work on break. How many hours would she have to work in a week so that she spends 5 hours on break?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Spends 1/16 of her time on the phone. Pretty much the same idea as the previous question. This equation would be: (1/16)t = 5 t = 5(16/1) t = 80 hours

Big thank you !!! I have a bunch more problems like this and having someone explain how to do it helps a bunch !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your forgetting C (: lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/17 of her time at work (t) on break. How many hours so she spends 5 hours on break? Whatever (t) is, 2/17 of it has to be 5 hours on break. (2/17)t = 5 t = 5(17/2) t = 42.5 hours
