over the weekend trigg and craig drove to lake of the pines to go fishing. now they're preparing to go home trigg needs gas for his jeep, which gets 27 miles per gallon for gas mileage. when he stops At the gas station, he already have 8 gallons of gas in his tank. he buys more gas for 1.35$ per gallon. If trigg spends $23.50 on gas, ehat is the total distance the boys could travel? round, if necessary, to the nearest tenth.

it also tells you the cost per gallon: 1.35 dollars per gallon if he spent 1.35, he bought 1 gallon if he spent 2.70, he bought 2 gallons. but he spent 23.50

I would divide 23.50 by 1.35 to find out how many gallons he bought.

For this problem, you find how much gas he bought. you add in the 9 gallons of gas he already has in the tank to get how much gas he has. then you multiply gallons of gas times miles per gallon to get the number of miles he can drive.
