can someone help me i just got into this and i have no idea what i'm i dong Which description is true about the expression twelve plus 2 times a plus 3 times b minus 6? 4 terms 1 variable term 1 coefficient 3 constant terms

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Did you write the expression using mathematical symbols?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aye

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What did you write?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Each plus or minus sign separates two terms. 6a --> 1 term a + b ---> 2 terms a + b - c ---> 3 terms ab + bc - 4ac + b^2 ---> 4 terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would the answer be 4 terms?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay now i understand it thank you so much

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You're welcome. I suggest that in the future, you write the expression using numbers and letters as in a math expression, instead of spelling it out. It's much easier to read. twelve plus 2 times a plus 3 times b minus 6 12 + 2a + 3b - 6
