how you do 2x+1=x-5

OpenStudy (shamil98):

2x + 1 = x - 5 you want to get "x" on one side and everything else on the other. so 2x + 1 = x - 5 let's move the to the other side by subtracting it -x -x x + 1 = -5 let's get rid of that 1 added to x subtract 1 from both sides x = -6
