The instructions were you need to find a friend or family member in which you share a common activity that could be done faster by working together. The result is the rational expression 1/20 + 1/30 = 1/x . 1/x represents the amount of time it takes them to finish it together. Problem is I don't really know how to solve rational experssions so well, I know bits and pieces but would like someone to run me through it just to make sure
\[\frac{ 1 }{ 20} + \frac{ 1 }{ 30 } = \frac{ 1 }{ x }\]
simplify the left side \[\frac{ 1 }{ 12 } = \frac{ 1 }{ x }\] |dw:1387239175042:dw|
