A football team's kicker prepares to kick a field goal. The kicker stands at the origin of a coordinate plane. Facing the positive y-axis, the kicker takes 3 steps backward, then 4 steps to the right, to prepare for the kick. Which ordered pair best represents his position? (-3,-4) (4,-3) (-3,4) (-4,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3,-4) he would go left than down if that was the situation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kali96748 It says he took four steps to the right, so it would be (-3,4)

OpenStudy (ranga):

(4, -3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But he went into the third quadrant which is the bottom left. He went from the top left to the bottom left, I think

I believe that is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha you look like a f_aggot hahaha

OpenStudy (ranga):

In an ordered pair, the first coordinate is the x and the second is the y. The diagram above is correct. +4 along x axis and -3 along y-axis and so (4, -3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ranga Oh yeah, I wasn't even thinking about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kali96748 Dude, that's really not necessary. No need to be a d!ck about things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you all are wrong cause it x axis and then y axis
