Metals are used to make pans to cook food in. This indicates that metals are good insulators

True

Hello! What is your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not true... metals heat extremely quickly in comparison to, say, rocks. Pour boiling water into an empty soda can and try picking it up (disclaimer: do not do this).

OpenStudy (jfraser):

false. very false.

OpenStudy (theeric):

I agree with Jemurray3 and JFraser. Very false. Metals are used to make pans to cook food in because they transfer heat \(\sf\color{#11BB11}{\text{well}}\). If it conducts heat well, it's called a \(\sf\color{#11BB11}{\text{conductor}}\). This is the \(\sf\color{red}{\text{opposite}}\) of an \(\sf\color{red}{\text{insulator}}\).
