Write a model that relates the millions of subscribers as a function of the number of years since 1983. According to the model, how many subscribers were there in 1995? Use the model to predict when there will be 150 million subscribers. Year: 1983 84 86 89 90 92 94 96 97 Subs: .25 3.0 6.5 3.8 5.3 11.0 24.1 44.0 55.3

If you can just tell me how to do it. You don't have to actually do it for me. Thanks

I have a graphing calc

For this type of problem I would use an exponential function to model the growth. If you can input data points (year, subs), then you should be able to plot them on a graph and find a regression curve. You might be able to do this in a spreadsheet and then plot the two variables in a graph. The years should be on the x-axis, and the subs on the y-axis. It might also help your model if you write the years as years after 1983, i.e. 1984 becomes 1, 1986 becomes 3, etc.. Just make sure that your regression curve is exponential. I'm not sure if this helped much since it's hard not knowing how your calculator works.
