Consider the following.
You have a wifi switch located on a the front or side of your laptop, you may have accidentally switched it off, or you may have disabled the wifi adapter.

i also still see wifi connection

1. Restart you computer. (If you haven't.)
2. Right click the wifi symbol and click troubleshoot.

the problem could be the router/modem itself, does anything else connect to the wifi?
