Given the parent functions f(x) = log10 x and g(x) = 5x − 2, what is f(x) • g(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shamil98

OpenStudy (shamil98):

\[\huge \log_{10} x * (5x-2)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you pls explain it shamil

OpenStudy (shamil98):

All you do is multiply the functions.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

f(x) = log_10 (x) g(x) = 5x -2 You want to know what f(x) * g(x) is so log_10(x) * (5x-2) is what that is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x).g(x)=(5x-2)log10(x)=log10(x^(5x-2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer is \[\log_{10} x ^{5x-2}\] Even @shamil98 is correct..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just used the property \[b \log_{n}a=\log_{n}a^b\]
