Meh, knowing the timeline of humans.
Good research > Good use > Bad use > Worse use > Abuse use.
So this genetic research will be helpful in curing disease, but soon someone will use it for the incorrect purpose.
It is the timeline of humans, we have to take good discoveries and use them for bad ideas. Though with this genetic research we may have the change to completely eradicate polio. So there is a benefit.
