OpenStudy (kamille):

There are three points and let's name them A, B and C A(0,0) B(5,0) C(5,12) Do you agree, that the sides of triangle are formed of AB. BC and AC?

i agree

OpenStudy (kamille):

There is a formula, which let's you know the distance of AB, BC and AC: \[AB=\sqrt{((x _{2}-x1))^2+((y _{2}-y _{1}))^2}\] A(x1,y1) is the same as A(0,0) B(x2,y2) is the same as B(5,0) so we get: \[AB=\sqrt{((0-0))^2+(5-0)^2}=\sqrt{25}=5\] so one side AB=5. Can you find BC and AC?
