Basically, what causes the flow of current is potential. Power is the product of current and voltage. Mathematically, P = IV. Knowing I and V, you get P (power)

Electromotive force, even the name seems to say the answer, generated chemically as in a battery, or mechanically as in a generator. Themovie gave you answer regarding power. The only thing I would add is that the phase of the voltage with respect to current is a concern.
