Translate the quadratic function f(x)= 2(x-1)^2+28 into standard form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)= 2(x-1)^2+28 first step is, in order of math operations, is to do the exponenets, how would you suggest we re-write (x-1)^2 so we can FOIL it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if we foil it then we would get 4x^2 - 8x +29 i think . I foiled it earlier but all the example equations hadn't foiled it so I didn't include it in my original equation

2(x-1)^2+28 2(x-1)(x-1)+28 2(x^2-2x+1) +28 2x^2 -4x +2 +28 2x^2 -4x +30

thanks !
