From the graph we can see the y-intercept (that is, where the graph cuts the y-axis) b = -2. We can also find the slope of the line m from the graph. Slope = rise / run = 6/2 = 3 (for the slope, start from the point where it cuts the y-axis, take 2 units to the right and see how much up we will have to go to get to the line and you will see the run = 2 and rise = 6 and so the slope is 3). y = mx + b y = 3x - 2 Add -y to both sides: 0 = 3x - y - 2 or 3x - y - 2 = 0
