In which word are the letters -er a suffix? A. mother B. dancer C. error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well C doesn't even use the -er suffix. take the suffix off of the other two and see if it equals the root word.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dancer. Why? Because "mother" without the "er" is moth. Moth is not the root of mother. Take the "er" off of "Dancer" and you get "dance" So that is correct. C does not even use the suffix "er" so C is wrong. The answer? B.
