Openstudy keeps a record of all original posts - edited, deleted, or otherwise. Openstudy also records your IP address. All your information is available for your school officials to review if they suspect you of breaking their honor codes.

OpenStudy is not invading your privacy, you agreed to use this site, so you have to submit to the ToS, which allows them to gather information about you. I wouldn't take it as an invasion of privacy, evercookies and LSO's that track you are invasion of privacy. They are not just giving random people this power they are giving this power to respected users on this site, I do not see any wrong in that. As for the IP thing, it isn't that big of a deal on average most people have a dynamic IP, because of IPv4 address are running out they change quite a lot per day.

More importantly:
There is a huge paragraph about plagiarism it is called the, "Anti-Cheating Policy ".

Personally I am fine with my data on OpenStudy's servers, though I hope they don't just give anyone your information to anyone that just, "claims" to be an organization. (What I mean is I hope they verify the person who they are giving the information to be true on who they represent).

Preetha or the other administrators would know more about how they distribute the information. The primary purpose of this site is to help others learn academic material. The concern that institutions have about the use of this site to break their own codes of conduct is of utmost importance.
