Solve the equation. 3(2w – 7) = 3 w = 4 w = 5/3 w = -1/5 w = 7/5

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

If there's a number aside something in parenthesis, you multiply everything in the parenthesis by that number So

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

The left side becomes 6w -21 (cause 3x2w = 6w, and 3x7 = 21 )

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

You can add 21 to both sides, and get 6w = 24

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

Divide by 6 on both sides, you get w = 4.

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

Understand?
