Will someone please help me with this? Metal for the best answer. Thanks!
So the y intercept, as you should know, is what you get when you put 0 in for x, yes?
Yeah.
So, in the context of the problem, a 0 in the x represents 0 days having passed.
So the y intercept is the heigh at day 0, or the height when the flower is planted.
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
Now. If the flowers are growing a couple centimeters every day, are they ever going to be their starting height again?
No.
Right. So your answer will be they'll never be the same height.
Oh! Thanks! Yeah... i get it now.
My understanding of the second question is a little different. They are not asking if the plant will ever be the same height as they were at the time of the planting. They are asking as each plant grows is there a day where they will have the same height. The answer is they have the same height of 23 cm each when they were planted. After that they will never have the same height as each other. So my answer is: "The flowers are the same height when they were planted.
23 mm not cm.
Well.. i have one more problem that i need help with. Can it please be short and simple? I have to leave in a bit.
The y-terms are the same.
Okay. Thank you so much!
