OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone compare phenotype to genotype

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Phenotype types are physical attributes and traits. Genotypes cannot be expressed visually, but influence the genotype.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phenotypes are physical attributes and traits that are shown through the genes. The genotypes are the genetic structure of the person and are not expressed physically. For example, if you have a homozygous male (CC) and heterozygous female (Cc) for curly hair, they would have a child with curly hair. That would be the child's phenotype. However, the genotype would be different because there is one recessive allele for straight hair that, although not shown physically, still exists as a recessive gene within their offspring. Make sense? :)
