Check my answer to this calc problem? suppose that an automobiles velocity starting from rest is v(t)=(290t)/(6t+12) where v is measured in feet per second. Find the acceleration at 8 seconds. Round to one decimal place after all the work I did, I got 0.966 but rounded it to 1.0. is that right?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Rounding .966 would equal 1 because 9 is above 5. anything above 5 helps the number to the left go up by 1. So if you're calculations are right, I think 1.0 is right

I got the same answer as you, 290/300 = .966. After rounding, it is 1.0, so you are correct

I know how to round, what I dont know is if I messed up the calculations. I took the derivative of the velocity equation and evaluated the result at t=8

thanks!
