one lap around a track measures 400 meters. Kelvin runs 8 lapa around the track for a race. How many kilometers did he run?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In this you neeed to know how many meters are in a kilometer ..which is 1000 .....8 laps is 400 meters x 8 or 3200 meters ...divide that by 1000 and you get 3.2 kilometer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't get it.???????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what don't you get ill help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u tell me the answer..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i already told you the answer. you need to learn how to do the problem tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u show me the problem.??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. If one lap is 400 meters and he ran 8 laps. that is 400 x 8 = ? You answer that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3200?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Good job. Now. in 1 kilometer there are 1000 meters. so the next step is figuring out how many kilometers 3200 meters is . The problem for that is 3200/1000 = ? . What is that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. So how many Kilometers did he run?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Good job.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i ask u next question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i suppose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

close the question and put a new one tho
