How do i write and solve the system of equations to find how many hours the bike needs to be rented for the cost to be the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.75h + 2 = 0.75h + 7 (now solve for x -- the number of hours)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops...solve for h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.75h + 2 = 0.75h + 7 1.75h - 0.75h = 7 - 2 h = 5 1.75(5) + 2 = 0.75(5) + 7 8.75 + 2 = 3.75 + 7 10.75 = 10.75 (correct) A person can rent a bike, at either shop, for five days and it will cost the same. 5 days cost 10.75 Is this what your question is asking ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yah it is asking how many hours you can rent a bike for the cost to be the say. I'll just put 5 days in hours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.....5 x 24 would be the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have any questions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks.:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait.....it is not 5 days...it is 5 hours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am sorry...I do not know where I got days from
