@gypsy1274

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont remember how to do that :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have a list of formulas? If not, you should create one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but this only has the base and the height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was the formula for volume.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it and see if you can figure it out before you look at her next answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so do u just multiply the two numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but this is a formula you will use many times. It will help if you understand it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says that the area of a rectangle is width times height so how do i find out the width?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Draw a rectangle that is 3 squares high and 7 squares wide.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Count the squares then check that against your multiplication. Try to make sense of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that makes 21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Length, width, base, height - these words are all interchangeable for rectangles. Once you understand it, you will not have to memorize the formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 21 is the correct answer for sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks again :)
