P varies directly with Q and inversely with R, and P = 12 when Q = 8 and R= 6. Find P when Q = 3 and R = 4.

I don't understand this at all..

directly proportional means if u increase the P then Q will be increased. and if u decreased the P then Q will be decreased.....
and inversly proportional means that if u increase the Q then R will be decreased .....
do u understand it?

start with P=12.
Q decreases from 8 to 3 or by 5, subtract 5 from P since it moves directly proportional with Q.
P is now 7
R decreases from 6 to 4 or by 2. add 2 to P since it moves indirectly proportional with Q.
P is now 9.
