More people should be available in other groups besides math. :/
i agree with u @Lena772 but this site only runs on volunteers and some of us aren't so strong on other subjects like me im very strong in history but my weak subject is science so i cant help in science with certain things :) i hope u understand my response but im 100% with u on ur feed back to Open Study
I am good at everything besides math and it's really annoying that people tag me in every post in other subjects.
& Get mad when I can't always help
i get that like people trust u to help them because they dont know if other people are good in that subject because they are in math and not in a subject that they can help in
^
Yesh, I mostly on math. But I do look at different groups ;o
The problem lies in the way you are notified about new questions. It makes it hard to even see things pop up in other areas.
The math group has always been 'faster' than the other groups. For whatever reason. Perhaps this difference is an inherent consequence of the types of problems posted in the other groups. Math can be worked through in equations - but something like a biology problem often (almost always) requires a written essay form answer. Which changes the pace at which questions can be asked and answered. Another difference is just the difference in tutoring availability. As E pointed out, all the tutors are volunteers. We are not paid for our time (obviously there are intangible rewards that inspire us to help hundreds, if not thousands of students transform themselves from 'asker' to 'answerer') and we all have other professional and personal commitments that place demands on our time off the site. We cannot be online all the time to answer each question asked within seconds of it being asked.
