What is the solution of the equation? √(x+10)^-9=-7

OpenStudy (raden):

my first guess is no solution, only if x is real number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that answer? like can you explain?

OpenStudy (raden):

can the square root has the negative value ? it is not exist, right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there has to be a solution because i have answer choices which are -6 4 14 -8

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I would plug in the choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright give me a minute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer would be -6?

OpenStudy (raden):

are you sure the question like that, no typo from you ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks like this \[\sqrt{x+10}^{-9}=-7\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i plugged -6 in and i got -7 on both sides that has to bee the answer right?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Should be, yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):
