!!! Two Medal Question !!! Compare Gravity and Weight

OpenStudy (tanya123):

there should be at least 3 similarities and 3 differences

Weight- The force of gravity pulling down on you. Weight is not constant, it changes at different height. If your higher up, you'll weigh less because less gravity is pulling on you. On another planet, your weight may be different because the gravitational force of the planet may be different Gravity- One of the four fundamental forces which attracts. Anything with mass has a gravitational pull, so everything can have gravitational pull. The more mass, the greater the gravitational pull

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gravity is a mutual force of attractions between two masses. Weight measures how strong that gravitational force is between a significant mass (like Earth or Mars or the Moon) and another mass resting upon it. :)

When we say Gravity, we refer to the gravitational field which has units of Newton's per kilograms.. which is a sole property of the object producing the field. Weight on the other hand is a measure of FORCE experienced by an object in a gravitational field. that is the only difference.. gravitational FORCE of A on B = Weight of B technically there is no difference between weight and gravitational force but usually we refer to weight of an object B due to object A , when that object B is veryyy smalll (in terms of mass) compared to that of A.. so that's where i can say.. hey dude.. if B was standing on planet A, what is its weight?.. that's equivalent to asking.. hey dude.. what is the gravitational force of planet A on object B but if their masses are comparable, then we usually don't use weight.. so if there are two planets A and B, u can't say.. hey dude, what's the weight of planet A due to planet B.. wouldn't make sense :P. i don't think technically there is any other difference besides that.
