Did you check that answer?

no
OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
You will find a problem with it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is this right 5x + 13 = -7
5x = -7 -13
5x = -20
divide both sides by 5.
x=-4 :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
| 5x + 13| = -7
(5x + 13) = -7 -(5x + 13) = -7
5x = -7 - 13 -5x - 13 = -7
5x = -20 -5x = -7 + 13
x = -4 -5x = 5
x = -1
answer is x = -4 and x = -1
