World War II was a continuation of World War I? Is that possible? i dont think so but i need some opinions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no? it would still be called world war I wouldn't it?...

OpenStudy (lopezking1):

Thats true but considering how WWI ended do you think that that would have influenced the rise of the second world war thats the trick in the questions aftermath of WWI

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It didn't cause it, The cessation of hostilities WW1, the Versailles Treaty, the failure of Weimar Government all contributed to a disaster waiting to happen. This situation was made worse by the depression in the 1930s and the fact that the Mark (German currency at the time) was totally worthless. There were no jobs and the people were starving. Somebody must be to blame!! Along came Adolf Hitler who saw that the situation was ripe to be manipulated for self-grandisment/power that would to all intents and purposes solve Germany's economic problem.. Before this could succeed, there had to be a recognisable scapegoat to blame all Germany's ills on. The Jews then became the focus of hate and using his oratory skills, he continued to whip the people up into a frenzy, constantly referring to the Jews and their money. Money begets power, power in the hand of a perceive inferior person, means that the country is weakened from within by inferiorty and if Germany was to regain her inner strength and world-wide standing again. all inferior beings would have to be expunged. Hitler preached Lebensraum (living space) to regain the land taken from Germany post WW1 - hence the walk-in to Czechoslovakia. He also cleverly and continually referred to Germany's great medieval past - the flag waving (heraldic devices) , the lighted torches and with the aid of his Propaganda Minister Goebles, he manipulated the minds of the people so that they themselves were blind to the truth of what was happening. Hitler was the supreme opportunist, he saw the opportunity for personal power that culminated in disastrous results for the world - WW2. In a way you could say that WW2 was a continuation of WW! -in many respects it was, but conversely in many respects it wasn't.. google does amazing things ... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080531155118AAX6Sqb
