A. 63.75 = d + q B. 63.75 = 25d + 10q C. 63.75 = 10d + 25q D. 63.75 = 0.10d + 0.25q Please Help

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

How much is a dime worth (in dollars), and how much is a quarter worth (in dollars)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm 10 cents and 25 cents

OpenStudy (awesome781):

D

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

That is in cents. How much are they worth in dollars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh 1/10 of a dollar and 1/4 of a dollar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks @Awesome781 :)

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Ok. 1/10 is written as 0.10 as a decimal, and 1/4 is written as 0.25 as a decimal.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If Bobby has d dimes, the dimes are worth 0.10d. The quarters are worth 0.25q. When you add their values, you get $63.75, so that means 0.10d + 0.25q = 63.75

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The answer is D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah sorry d :)
