Your analysis will be focused on discovering three parts of the painting that show evidence of change in Late Medieval European society and economy. Focus on the interactions between people and try to determine what activity is going on? How does this activity reflect the change in European society or the economy that is happening as guilds developed?

Keep the following in mind as you analyze the painting: Consider how the painting reflects the economic and social changes of the late medieval period in Europe. Identify three features from the painting, and explain how each feature represents a significant change that took place during this period of history. Make sure you select three unique interactions. Your explanations for each of the three interactions should not be the same as or significantly similar to) your explanations for the other interactions. Use complete sentences to express your ideas, and make sure that your explanations are thorough. This means that each answer should be at least two sentences.

Looking at the painting - You could see that It shows a lot of interactions. Such as the interaction between merchants and buyers - The interaction between merchants and merchants - And the interaction between buyers and buyers. The market seems like It Is located on the side of a medieval street in the Netherlands. This detailed painting also shows and reflects upon the economic and social changes of the late medieval period in Europe. How - If you look at the painting closely you could see one of the buyers exchanging coins with the merchant. Long ago - Instead of using currency to exchange with sellers - They would use items. To me this is a big economic change. *If you look at the painting you could see that there are 9 men in the market but only 1 woman. This means that there were more men than women at the market. Nowadays - You would see that there are more women than man who go to the market. To me this was a big social change. The painting also shows many features. The three features from the painting that represented change and got my attention were the coins that were used to buy items in the market - The cloths the people were wearing - And the fireplace in the market.

These features represented a change for me - As in the past - People used to use items to buy items from places - Kind of like a trade! Nowadays - We use mainly bills for exchanging and buying something from the market - store - Etc… @courter98 Remember to put everything In your own words - Better to be safe than sorry! :)

Use this as a quick start and brainstorm some Ideas of your own from looking at what was said :) Good Luck! @courter98
