WHAT IS THE EXCLUDED VALUE FOR x-8/x^2-2x+1 please last one , someone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x-8 }{ x^{2} - 2x +1 }\] Find what value of x will make the denominator equal to zero, since division by zero is impossible. \[x^{2} - 2x + 1 \rightarrow (x-1)(x-1)\] If you plug in 1, you will get 0 for the denominator. So the excluded value is 1.
