Help!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write an expression to describe a rule for the sequence. then find the 100th term in the sequence:) 4,9,14,19,24,29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

choices: A; n + 5; 504 B: 5n-1;499 C: 5n; 500 D:4n + 5; 405

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello again, remember, find the pattern here. What do all the numbers have in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh HI:) and i'm guessing they all have an 'n'....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, 'n' means number. So, C would be read as 5 times 'number' where number is the number you are looking at in the set. If you are looking at the first number, 4, you would do 5 times 4. Does 5 x 4 = 9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay... that makes sence. then how would i figure out the question by doing this or is there another step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You pretty much keep doing this. Let's try answer 'A' n + 5, aka active number + 5. What is 4+5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be 9.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we are on the right track because 9 is the number after 4, what is 9 + 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is very simple:) think i got the hang of it!! thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14 is the number after 9, so A is correct. Now, if you like you can run through the rest of the numbers using this rule just to get the hang of it. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, yeah!! thanks again.
