please help! Which of the following equations is equivalent to x - y = 5? x - 2y = 30 4x - 3y = 30 3x - 4y = 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right answer is missing

OpenStudy (ttop0816):

oh sorry! the question was 1/2x-2/3y=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The correct answer here is D: 3x - 4y = 30. Do you need help understanding how?

OpenStudy (ttop0816):

if you dont mind yes! but it fine if you dont too (: im starting to get it by my self

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, one moment while I write it out.

OpenStudy (ttop0816):

@RenOwnd oh but instead could you see if i got this question correct?? x + y ≤ 6 x ≤ 4 https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/5/math06a.gif <--- i chose this! https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/5/math06.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That look correct! Good job!

OpenStudy (ttop0816):

oh and also these two similar question please! y < -x y ≤ x - 2. https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/5/m90963d.gif <-- i chose this! https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/5/t5.gif & https://media.glynlyon.com/g_alg01_2013/5/t1.gif this is inconsistent because its parallel to each other right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm... That one is incorrect, and the second one is correct they are indeed inconsistent for that reason.
