Anny, Lewis, and Karin pooled their funds to buy a gift for a friend. Anny contributed $2 less than of the cost of the gift and Lewis contributed $2 more than of the cost. If Karin contributed the remaining $15, what was the cost of the gift?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let the cost of the give be $x Contribution of A1 = (x/3) – 2 Contribution of Lew = (x/4) + 2 Contribution of Karen = $15 So we can say that (x/3) – 2 + (x/4) + 2 + 15 = x on solving equation we get that x = $36 Got it.... Must Visit my Page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DevanshGaurOfficial

Contribution of Lew = (x/4) + 2 I did not understood this line...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then It must be (x/3)+2 why (x/4)+2...?
