Here is what I was thinking. W know all sides are equal. So on the smaller one, we have 13 + 13 + 15 + 15. Alright, know, we know on the bigger one, one side is 45.5, and on the similar one, the side is 13. So, if you multiply 13 by 3.5, you get 45.5. I feel that 3.5 is the scale factor. If I do that for 13 and 15, I get the dimensions 45.5, 45.5, 52.5, 52.5. When I add them all up, I get a total of 252. However, we're told that we have 4 strips of 36 inch long of molding. 4 * 36 = 144. However, I got 252. Did I do something wrong?

Or, am I just reading the question wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Callisto , you there :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You now have to subtract 144 from 252

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe

Ehmmm... "What is the minimum length, in inches, Enrique *still requires to frame both the pictures" It implies that you won't have enough to frame... Find the difference..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So 144 - 252 = -108. Enrique is 108 units short.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, that looks correct.
