now sub in n + 15 in for d in the 1st equation
.10(n + 15) + .05n = 5.25 -- distribute through the parenthesis
.10n + 1.50 + .05n = 5.25 -- subtract 1.50 from both sides
.10n + .05n = 5.25 - 1.50
.15n = 3.75
n = 3.75/.15
n = 25 =====> 25 nickels
now sub 25 in for n in either of the equations to find d
d = n + 15
d = 25 + 15
d = 40 ====> 40 dimes
