In what ways does setting influence characterization? Provide an example.

Setting influences characterization by changing the mood of the characters and also how they act and move. For example lets say that your character is standing in the rain, he/she might act grumply because they are in the rain as if they were inside they would be happy. I might need a second opinion on this. I am not sure if this answers your qeustion.

Setting is a big deal in stories. For example, someone whose had a hard life is less likely to be positive and upbeat. Maybe someone who loves the sunshine, had to live somewhere dark and gloomy, obviously it's going to affect their personality.
