I am really thrilled that you guys are having a party in the chat - I am just concerned that threads like this are being used as private chat rooms, which is spamming and which makes legitimate use of the forums much harder, and which is not so cool.

I am not concerned with what chat room you use for your party - whether it is on OpenStudy, whether it is not on OpenStudy. Whatever.

I am concerned with threads like this in the forums being used as chat rooms. For discussions unrelated to the group. This conversation has nothing to do with OpenStudy Feedback, for example - but it is being treated as a chat room anyway.

Yes, people have posted junk like this before. The mods took a liberal, live-and-let-live approach to it. Until it was flagrantly abused - one conversation lasted three hours, and some of the people in this thread were participants in that.

We were also without our mod tools - suspend and warn abilities - for a few weeks because of bugs. So we had to live with it because we couldn't deal with it as efficiently as we can now.

It is junk and it has no place on the OpenStudy forums.

@UsArmy3947, first of all, hopefully those bugs will not come back. The admins tell us that that part of the site is stable - so let's not worry about that problem until we have to.

Has everyone got the idea that chats like this in the forums are not OK? I am not interested in handing out warnings as everyone understands that. And I am not interested in handing out suspensions, as I hope everyone is going respect that. You have your link to an alternative venue for your party - take it.
