February weather in Pennsylvania can act quite strange. On any given day, it could be freezing, but then warm up the next day. If it was -4oF on February 2 and 38oF on February 20, what was the increase in temperature from February 2 to February 20? Can someone please explain to me how I solve this? Thank you. :)

ok i think its a 52 degree increase

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did that help you

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

When asked how much it increased between two values, you are looking for the difference between them. So use subtraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see it was at -4 degrees so your moving up

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Same goes for decrease :)

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

But be careful with negative signs! :) Hint: You are subtracting a negative which ends up being ______.

Thank you :)
